Terms of Service
Last updated August 26, 2026
Plain-language terms for using Nocto. By adding the bot to a server or using its dashboard, you're agreeing to these.
The service
Nocto is provided as-is, free of charge, without warranty of any kind. We aim for reliability but don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime, message delivery, data availability, or that any particular feature will remain available indefinitely.
Best-effort features
Some Nocto features are inherently best-effort rather than guaranteed. Detecting whether a member was kicked versus left on their own relies on a timing-sensitive lookup against Discord's own audit log and can occasionally be wrong. Message content shown for an edit or delete is only as good as what was available in Nocto's temporary cache within the retention window configured by the server administrator, and is unavailable outside that window. The Redis storage used for message history is temporary and is not guaranteed to be durable. If Redis is restarted, fails, is cleared, or its contents are otherwise lost, cached message history may be permanently unavailable even if its configured retention period has not yet expired. Nocto does not guarantee that cached audit-log history will survive infrastructure failures or maintenance.
Acceptable use
Don't use Nocto to violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, to harass or surveil members without their server's knowledge, or to attempt to disrupt or abuse the bot or its infrastructure. We reserve the right to refuse service to, or leave, any server at our discretion, particularly where we detect abuse patterns such as ban evasion across multiple servers.
Server admin responsibilities
If you enable the audit log module's message-content or member-activity categories, you're responsible for that being an appropriate use of those permissions within your own server and community, consistent with Discord's policies and any expectations you've set with your members.
Changes
We may update these terms or the Privacy Policy as the bot changes. Material changes will update the "last updated" date on this page; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
